Born and raised in China, Zhan Wang graduated from Shenzhen University with a B.A. in English Literature and minor in Communication. As an undergraduate, she wrote/directed the short film Child-murdering about one-child policy in China. After graduation, Zhan went to MTV-China working as writer/director at the Western music program. She has a passion for art and visual images and began her career at See+ photography gallery in Beijing.
In 2012, she came to Los Angeles to pursue her dream as a filmmaker .She has been studying film production at Loyola Marymount University and received A.M.P.A.S(Academy Motion Picture Arts and Science) internship program scholarship.
Zhan makes films that are edgy, thought provoking, and inspirational. She fueled her early success in writing and directing Poker with Death, Bad Blood, and Suicide Inn and worked her way up from Allan Moyle Productions, PGA (Producer Guild of America) to Jerry Bruckheimer Films.
