Tzu-Yang Chen always had a passion for teaching. Being from a family of academia,

the idea of storytelling never even entered his mind. That all changed with an elective class in filmmaking.

 

Born in Taiwan, Tzu-Yang graduated from National Dong Hwa University with a BA in English Literature. It was during his time in undergrad that he realized filmmaking is possible as a profession and made plans to apply for film school.

 

He is currently an MFA candidate at Chapman University Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. Fukai Mori is his first film.
